Yellow Leaf Festival 2016

The Yellow leaf Festival was held on Friday November 11th, brought together the La Chat community to hear great music and raise money for a worthy cause. The goal is to partner with the other Ecolint campus’ to support the Bicycling Empowerment Network, a charity that promotes sustainable, social and economic empowerment through the use of bicycles.

The event showcased the talents of eight La Chat students. Maia Filler and Nelson Mondale of Year 9 performed “Laundry Room” by The Avett Brothers and “Riptide” by Vance Joy. In Year 11, Izi Cook performed “So Far Gone” by James Blunt and “Somewhere Only we Know” by Keane. Sofia Mareque sang “Home” by Gabrielle Alpin and “Yellow” by Coldplay; she then went on to sing “Everything has Changed” by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran with James Allen (Year 12).  James Allen also performed a mashup of his own song “Open your Eyes” and Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph”, as well as “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse. Also from Year 12, Ashling Barmes, Nicci Frohlich, and Becky Popovich performed “Little Talks” by Of Monsters and Men, “Say Something” by A Great Big World, and “Youth” by Daughter.
