Dear Ms. Hassen (and the rest of school administration),
Weekends are easily one of the best inventions ever made. After five days of waking up early, sitting in class, and trying our best to stay focused, weekends feel like freedom. There’s no school bell, no rushing between lessons, and no immediate stress about homework, at least for a little while.
However, weekends always seem to go by far too quickly. By the time students finally relax, it’s already Sunday night, and stress has returned. Honestly? I believe weekends should last three days, and here are a few reasons why:
1. Rest: The Most Underrated Subject

First, students need proper recovery time. One day is usually spent catching up on sleep, one day on homework, and only one day is left to actually rest. A third day would allow a healthier balance, instead of treating rest like a bonus feature you only unlock after finishing homework.
2. Longer Weekends Save Lives! (…Or At Least Grades)

Second, a longer weekend would improve motivation and mood, which would likely lead to better focus during the school week. Motivation on a Monday is like having your phone on 1%: it’s there but good luck! I’m sure the teachers must recognize the benefits of this one, as I’m sure they’re tired of students falling asleep in class.
3. Less Stress, Less Zombies

Finally, less stress could mean happier, more productive students overall, rather than students who enter on Monday already counting down the days to the end of the week. At least let us arrive on Monday with some hope left.
I do hope you’ll consider this small but life-changing proposal. I truly believe a three-day weekend would benefit everyone.
Sincerely,
An overworked student
