“Patience is a virtue”, they said.
Oh, how I wish it were one I possessed,
the ability not to rush,
stay levelled headed and calm.
Yet their skills are the jewel of my envy.
The one thing I desire most,
another possesses.
Whether it may be a being or a trait,
I want it nevertheless.
For if it’s someone, I’d scream, “Finally!”
for I have waited long, but not enough.
I’ve bickered, teased and listened for too long
I’ve heard telltale signs escape their lips.
Or could it just be a delusion of my creation?
The bickering was merely an argument.
The teasing, a form of bullying.
The signs, merely just words.
And the listening a waste of my time.
Maybe time will change my predicament.
Now, if it’s the attribute, I’d be at peace
as once more I have waited long but not enough
I’ve cried, screamed, and panicked for too long
I’ve longed for an end to arrive.
Or could it just be that I’m destined to stay in impatience?
The crying was merely pointless.
The screams, a secret desire.
The panic, a false hope.
And longing will end in supposedly my desired fate.
Maybe time will change my predicament.
Yet I know that I’m destined to control what comes next.
I write my story through my Karma,
and fulfilling my Dharma will lead to peace.
Joy, calm, happiness and even patience.
So I’ll stay and wait
and complete the path too.
