This week (22nd to the 26th of January) a multitude of events will be happening around school to celebrate reading week. There will be lots of events you can get involved in, whatever year group you are in.
Guest Speakers – Staff from across the school will be visiting classrooms to discuss their best-loved books and share why they love to read. Additionally there will be some guest lectures from the community who will be talking about the importance of reading and its application in a wide variety of fields.
Book Club – For those who like to share their views on literature with others the new Book Club, which will run for those in years 10-13, will offer the perfect forum. The first meeting will be held during P6 on Monday 22nd January in Léman 2.09.
Library – The library shelves will be littered with book recommendations, small blurbs will help you identify whether you would be interested. Furthermore there will be a display showcasing the preferred reading spots of students throughout the school. Reading areas around the school will also be the recipients of a revamp.
Instagram – La Chat now has its own Instagram account dedicated to reading (where.we.read), publishing photos of pupils reading in their favourite place. Please send your pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parents – There will be an info/coffee morning on Friday the 26th of January where the new initiatives surrounding reading week will be explained.
