The Opinion of Every Day of the Week: A Short Story

article by Camille Cigognini 8D from our Junior Update!

I was just chatting with the days of the week and they desperately wanted to share how they feel, so here is a slight glimpse into their weekly lives! Be warned: they are all siblings so they will most probably talk about each other.

Monday-

It’s me Monday. I can’t believe I have to go first! All I want to do is sleep. I rarely talk in the morning. I don’t make a sound, dark brown hair covering my face and huge bags under my eyes. But throughout the day, I get my energy up and by the evening I’m full of life! But then I feel put down by monstrous amounts of homework, even though Thursday does most of it. I occasionally do some…

Tuesday-

My turn. Tuesday! I see my friends and I’m chatty as ever, like a talking parrot. It is relaxing and chill, not much to think about. I wear a t-shirt with my hair tied up into a ponytail. I am quite tired though I know it’s not Monday, but still, school is tiring. I wonder what the other days are going to say. I like Wednesday because she’s really nice. Sunday, though, is really braggy, even though she is the day before Monday which means school starts again (ew). And Monday complains a LOT. But honestly, I get it, I mean not really ‘cause I’m not Monday, but I understand that she complains because she is the first day of school. Thursday does most of the homework. I also do a little bit of it.

Wednesday-

I am Wednesday. I am in the middle of everything. Cheerily going through my day. I am as relaxed as a purring cat,  my hair glittering in the sun and wearing a t-shirt full of colors. I like all the other days – they’re nice and I hope they like me. I do some homework sometimes but not too much. Thursday does most of it, I don’t know how Thursday does it. Not much to say, except that I’m happy!

Thursday-

I am happy but tired. Can you guess who I am? It’s me, Thursday. All the homework is done today, and sadly I am the one who has to do it. Computer is fully charged, so I have no excuse to not do my homework. Music playing in my ears, I am always annoyed that I have to be the one who does most of the homework. Why not Tuesday or Monday?? Not Wednesday, Wednesday is nice. And not Saturday or Sunday because they do a bit of homework. But not as much as me. One good thing is that I am the day when Camille (the one who let us write this) is born, and I am very proud of that.

Friday-

Last day of school. WOOHOO! I love being Friday, telling all my friends what Saturday and Sunday will do this week. Happy but jealous that I’m not on the weekend. Skipping down the street wearing shorts and my hair styled prettily. I do still have to deal with one day of school and it does drone on sometimes, and I also do some homework (but Thursday does most of it). But I can stay up as late as I want cause I’M FRIDAY! Saturday does too but that doesn’t matter.

Saturday-

Casual and easy going, it’s me, Saturday. I am doing adventures and staying up late at night a bit like Friday, without thinking about what my sister Sunday will be doing at all, even though it’s hard because she brags so much. Overjoyed by the sun, I am the best of all. Not Friday, which is a nice day but still has to do school, and not Sunday which knows school is coming even though she says it doesn’t bother her. I do a bit of homework but not too much (Thursday does most of it!).

Sunday-

Easy breezy Sunday. I am laughing at every other day because obviously I’m the best. I chill and relax and that’s all I do. My sister is Saturday but I’m older. She is happy all the time and so am I, but I am a bit more superior. The only thing I would change about me is not having Monday after me ‘cause it does ruin the mood a bit, knowing that you’re going to have school tomorrow. But don’t tell anyone that! They must think all I do is have lots of fun and that’s all. And also that I do a bit of homework (but not nearly as much as Thursday).

Here you go! Now the days of the week can’t be mad at me, and, just to be clear: EVERY day of the week does a bit of homework but you probably already figured that out – Thursday does do the most…
