Highlights from the Junoir Update, October 2025

Autumn comes and go.

By: Olive Chavez-Goldman (Y7)

Leaves descending in an amber fight,

just as the birds start taking flight.

As I thought to myself, how beautiful is this life.

Once I thought on an amber night, how much delight I felt inside.

The fire burned with a mystical light.

The hot coco winked with a secretive smile

With Halloween coming ever closer, expectations grow higher just like Wednesday’s pyre.

Autumn’s Beauty.

By: Sufi Safiyya Irwan Shahrezza (Y7)

The wind bristles, showering the floor with leaves

Autumn comes and Summer leaves

The air is filled with scents both crisp and sweet

As pumpkins grow and rabbits start to eat

Autumn’s gentle hands begin their work

Plucking leaves where shadows lurk

All the bright green fields and flowers

Are now so red and brown and dour

The migrating birds seek warmth from the cold

As foxes hunt to break free from her hold

The crunch of leaves and the sound of fire

While parents change their summer tires

Halloween comes with creeping chills

While children choose their costume thrills

Sweet ginger biscuits people start to crave

While sleepy bears approach their caves

AUTUMN

By: Lucia Chavez-Goldman (Y7)

As the leaves fell gracefully off the branches, and the wind rushing by caught them and swept them up, Autumn announced its arrival.

As the children set off for school they saw piles of beautiful crisp leaves fresh from their failed attempt at survival. As we creep ever closer to the Halloween thrill

we can sense the fun times coming close. You know we all get chills. It’s time to get our coats for Autumn starts to spread her chilly breeze.

While kids spend their times at home wrapt in soft warm blankets to avoid that winter sneeze.

We snuggle as close for the trees whisper their stories for all to hear.

And as we peer into the fires comforting flames we think of the things that make us cheer.

As we set to work in the kitchens, we baked our favorite pumpkin pie

We kiss our beloved summer a farewell solemn goodbye.

Whisper of Autumn

By: Mayra Beck (Y7)

Leaves descend in amber flight,

Golden suns yield to softer light

Crisp winds dance through fading days,

And twilight cloaks the amber haze

Pumpkin scents and fires glow,

Scarlet branches bending low

Nature hums a quiet tune,

Beneath the harvest moon

Time slows down in amber, streams

Wrapped in cozy, woolen dreams

Autumn sings, both soft and deep,

 A lullaby before winter’s sleep.
