Brought to you by IB Year 13 students
The IB. The grand finale of high school. We hype it up, as we finally stride towards
completing the 2-year program that will hand us our diploma and ship us to
university. However, there are a few steps to get that golden diploma. And
sometimes those steps are complicated, misunderstood, and at times lonely. Student
life, especially those of IB students, isn’t easy. That’s a fact. And though we often try
to pretend that the workload is fine, and that the procrastination won’t last forever, it’s
hard to get into a good mental health space. For many, we think we can manage our
pressure independently – which some can and others can’t. As students, we feel that
there is no advice that we can truly relate to. There is no student that openly says
what they are going through. So, we thought of making a platform possible for you to
seek advice or simply listen.
This podcast is for students, but can also be for parents and teachers who want to
understand more about the program and help their children or students navigate
these IB years. In short, this podcast is for everyone. It seeks to create a community
in which we acknowledge the difficulties of this course and to help each other
through the rough patches.
We welcome you to the ‘ Let’s get real ‘ podcast, available on Spotify. We will be
releasing episodes on different aspects, ranging from mental health to the basics of
the IB – which can sometimes be unclear for students going into their first year. To
find us on Spotify, our username is: Let’s get real – IB student podcast.
Additionally, feel free to contact each one of us individually if you have any questions
or need someone to talk to. We mean it.
