DO FISH THINK THEY’RE FLYING

DO FISH THINK THEY’RE WET OR DRY

DO FISH THINK ABOUT DEATH

Today we are here to discuss the age-old question: do fish think they’re flying. Good question. To understand this better I’ll use this analogy (I don’t know what an analogy is): we live in air, and reside on the ground. If we are suspended in the air and start moving, that is flying. So let’s translate this to underwater life. Sea creatures that crawl about on the seafloor are like us. They don’t fly. However fish that swim in the water are suspended in that material and move. So they are flying.

Well that looks like another question we’ve knocked down and resolved today.

Now let’s move on to our second question of the day: do fish think they’re wet or dry?

This is a tricky one. So let’s think about it in terms of the human environment first. We live in air, and air is not liquid. It’s gas. So in a normal situation of a human just standing in the air, the human is not in contact with enough substance of liquid for it to have physical, visible effects on the human. Such as getting wet. However when the human steps out of this controlled, neutral environment and comes in contact with water or any liquid, they get wet. So if you reverse this concept for sea creatures, their normal environment is in water. There they are dry. However when taken out of water and into air, they become wet in the same but opposite way we become wet when touching water. A-ha.

That’s two questions of ages tackled and resolved, readers.

But now for the final, burning question we all definitely have on the tip of our tongues, an inquiry so popular that it’s the second google search recommendation when googling ‘do fish think’. DO FISH THINK ABOUT DEATH. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find a straightforward answer to this online. So we must resort to cold, hard, theorising (matpat-style). The previous two questions have been answered with the assumption that fish are able to think, so since we have conclusive evidence in the form of sushi that fish can in fact die, it’s only logical to conclude that fish know about and have witnessed death, and therefore think about it.

And there you have it folks. Answers to the world’s mysteries. Use this knowledge wisely. That’s all for today. Thanks
