The Update is incredibly grateful to have received first Australian female Prime Minister and inspiring leader Julia Gillard on 17/03/2025.

Julia Gillard is an Australian politician who served as the 27th Prime Minister of Australia from 2010–13. As the first woman to hold the office, Gillard led Australia through significant economic and political challenges. Gillard is widely recognised for her 2012 “Misogyny Speech,” which called out sexism in politics and earned international acclaim. Despite facing criticism and political controversy, she remains a transformative figure in Australian politics, celebrated for her resilience and advocacy for equity. After politics, Gillard has focused on advancing education, mental health, and gender equality. She serves as Chair of the Australian mental health and wellbeing support organisation Beyond Blue and the Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation supporting health research.
