Jeremy Bernard Corbyn is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington North since 1983. Formerly a long-standing member of the Labour Party (1965–2024), he now sits as an independent and remains affiliated with the Socialist Campaign Group, a left-wing parliamentary caucus. Corbyn led the Labour Party and served as Leader of the Opposition from 2015 to 2020. He identifies as a democratic socialist and is widely associated with the political left.
