The most anticipated movie of 2026 was released just days ago, on May 1, starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and Kenneth Branagh.
After the first was released in 2006, the movie became a world-renowned classic, making 326 million $.
The 2nd movie, which was released just days ago, has already made $546.2 million worldwide.
Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, is a young journalist who gets an assistant job for the Runway magazine under the leadership of Miranda Priestly, even though she knew nothing about fashion and modeling. By the end of the movie, she knows more about fashion and the industry than ever before, but she decides to end her career by throwing her phone into a fountain while Miranda Priestly was ringing her.
In the second movie, Nady Sachs makes a comeback. 20 years later, after travelling around as a journalist, Andy Sachs comes back to New York, only to find out her company has been laid off by email. Looking for a new job, she signed up once again as a journalist for Runaway.
Even though at the beginning of the movie, Miranda Priestly can’t even remember who Andy was, she develops throughout the movie, and by the end, she works full-time for Runway as a journalist.

- Anne Hathaway had to put up a good fight for the role of Andy Sachs, as all Hollywood stars applied for the role. Other actresses that were considered were Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Kristen Dunst.
- Actors Emily Blunt and Stanley Streep are siblings-in-law, as he is married to Emily’s older sister Felicity.
- Meryl Streep wore a wig for the whole of The Devil Wears Prada 1 and the sequel.
- When the first movie was released, The Devil Wears Prada had a record of the most expensive wardrobe of any movie ever, costing 1 million $, even though the original budget was 100,000.
- Meryl Streep was the one to convince Lady Gaga to be in the movie.
- 50 million $ were spent paying the actors, not including all the stars, which added up to 50 percent of their budget. The movie had a budget of $100, 000.
- The iconic line in the first movie,” Is there some reason my coffee isn’t here ? Has she died or something ? “, was actually improvised by Meryl Streep. Yes, both Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci improvised a lot whilst filming The Devil Wears Prada 1.

- Caleb Hearon, who played Charlie, Miranda’s assistant in the 2nd movie, admitted that he took a Runaway magazine notepad as remembrance.
- Lady Gaga was paid 2.5 million $ to be in the movie, even though she appeared for about 2 minutes.
In conclusion, we are so lucky to have a new movie to talk about for the coming years.
