Cynthia Miller-Idriss is an award-winning author and expert on extremism and radicalization. She is the founding director of the Polarization and Extremism Research & Innovation Lab (PERIL) at American University in Washington, DC, where she is also a Professor in the School of Public Affairs and the School of Education. Dr. Miller-Idriss frequently briefs U.S. Congress, global policy and security agencies, and the United Nations on domestic extremism and prevention strategies.
A leading voice on far-right youth and preventative interventions, she is the author of six books. Dr. Miller-Idriss also consults on legal cases involving extremism and provides expert advice to foundations and organizations focused on radicalization prevention.
